In 1635, Shri Hirachand Mehta came to Palanpur from Jhalore with 3 items: Kuldevi Varahi Mata's picture on a silver plaque, a special Shri Yantra engraved on a copper plate and an iron Trishul.
Around 1885, the eighth generation of Hirachand, Shri Gumanchand Dharamchand did sthapana of Mataji in his ground floor house. The road outside his house was expanded and re-constructed, and named Patthar Sadak in 1925. To facilitate its widening, his house was demolished, and hence he constructed a new 2-storey building with the first floor dedicated to Mataji. His new house came to be known as Mataji ni Medi, and he allowed all Hirani Mehta families and other devotees to do Jeti and worship the Kuldevi.
Shri Gumanchandbhai's son, Shri Haribhai, and Shri Chamanlal Manchhachand meticulously prepared the Vansavali (genealogical tree) for the Hirani Mehta family in Hindi, and distributed it amongst the Hirani Mehta Parivar on 1st July 1943. After independence in 1947, the Hirani Mehta Parivar started moving out of Palanpur to big cities of India and abroad. By 1957, there were fewer than 10 families staying in Palanpur, and the contact between the various descendants diminished.
Realizing the fallout caused by the migration, Shri Kantibhai Chamanlal decided to address the situation. He approached the younger generation to consolidate the Parivar in Mumbai. In 1983, he gave a copy of the Vansavali (genealogical tree) to Shri Dinesh Mehta, his nephew, to update and re-establish contact with the entire Hirani Mehta Parivar. Because of Dineshbhai's business, this task remained unfinished till 1990, when he was suddenly inspired by some Divine forces to take up this job.
It was a strong wake-up call by intuition from her holyness Pujya Mataji, and there was no looking back after that. Everything started to fall into place, no matter how small or big, with minimal effort. The entire Hirani Mehta Parivar gave more than expected co-operation in updating the Vansavali and the "Hirani Mata Pujan Pushpa and Hirani Mehta Parivar Parichay" book.
The chronology of events thereafter is as follows:
